HNTB CADD Technician III - Transportation/Aviation Civil in Bellevue, Washington
What We're Looking For
An exciting and rewarding opportunity for an Advanced Proficiency Level career at HNTB. Performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning, executing and managing project CADD production of varied size and scope. Assists engineer in outlining objectives, requirements and design approaches. Proficient in CADD and knowledgeable in design software such as GIS, 3D, Airport, Highway and/or Railroad design and Graphic Imaging. Responsible for gathering and managing engineering data from a variety of sources. Assists in oversight and development of junior-level CADD technicians.
Primary Focus Will Include:
CADD support of civil engineering design projects, including reference file and drawing set-up and management, and CADD drafting. Project types include airport (airfields, terminal areas, roadways) and highway/transportation projects. Project types may also include electrical, mechanical and/or structural disciplines on occasion, depending on project work load.
Assistance with set-up and management of Civil 3D files. Use of Civil 3D to assist engineers with various design tasks such as profile development, utility design, quantity estimating.
Implementation of HNTB Quality Management System as related to drawing production
Quality review and oversight of technical work and assignments of junior CADD technitions
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Associate's degree or certificate in drafting technology or related discipline
4 years related experience, preferably in engineering or related field
Ability to work efficiently and independently in AutoCAD and Civil 3D environment
Comfortable working in collaborative, project team environment
Ability to accommodate occasional overtime, if needed to meet project deliverable schedules
Strong graphical presentation and organization skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with BIM/Revit a plus
Ability to identify and implement new technology tools to increase project performance
What You'll Need
Responsible for the organization of all design/production related files.
Responsible for verifying the accuracy of drawings, compatibility of work across disciplines and for checking detail and quantity calculations.
Assists the engineer in outlining objectives, requirements and design approaches.
Attends project and pre-construction meetings and provides input to ensure proper policies, procedures, and specifications are followed. Prepares electronic files for use in meetings and facilitates their display.
Calculates quantities and performs engineering related computations.
Provides training and mentoring of less experienced technicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate of Science or Technical School
6 years related experience
In lieu of education, 8 years related experience
Proficient in the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps related to a specific Engineering sub-type.
