HNTB Transportation Planner IV in Miami, Florida

What We're Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB! We are currently seeking a Transportation Planner IV in our Atlanta, GA office. This position can also work remotely in our Nashville, TN office and Miami, Lake Mary, & Tampa, FL offices.

With minimal supervision develops technical solutions and strategies for small-scale planning projects or for portions of larger projects. Responsible for proactively overseeing other project team members in development of solutions. May serve as a task leader or project manager on a limited basis for select small scale project. Task assignee on multiple projects.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Develop, update, and apply travel demand model (trip based or activity based) analysis using CUBE and/or TransCAD.

  • Data analysis using travel demand data, traffic data and other transportation related data.

  • Serve as a modeling subject matter expert on transportation planning studies including regional/corridor studies and traffic and revenue studies.

  • May perform transit ridership model analysis using STOPs or similar.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • PE registration or AICP certification

  • 2+ years of CUBE and/or TransCAD scripting skill

  • Programming experience in R, Python and/or SQL

  • Experience in VISUM a plus

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares scopes of work, fee proposals and assists with responses to RFP’s.

  • Coordinates with clients on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks.

  • May oversee the work of less experienced staff. Assists in directing teams for small scaled projects.

  • Conducts research and detailed analysis of data.

  • Interfaces with client group and community stakeholders. Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.

  • Identifies and recommends appropriate technical procedures that should be used on a project.

  • Prepares technical plans and reports.

  • Prepares written reports on small to medium sized planning projects. Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.

  • Uses technical software to perform project analysis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field

  • 6 years related experience

  • 4 years related experience (with Master's degree in Planning or related)
